Turning a Vision into Reality: The Journey Behind Unified Restoration LLC

For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of building a Restoration company that not only provides exceptional service but also restores trust in the process. Here’s a bit of my backstory:

In the early 2000s, I was working long hours at a gas station, putting in 12-hour shifts, six days a week. One day a Project Manager, Brandon Anderson, from a company that regularly fueled up at the station approached me. He said they noticed how hard I worked and asked if I would be interested in applying for a Water Damage Technician position at their company. I had no idea what that job entailed, but I decided to take a chance and applied.

I interviewed with the Department Manager, Chris Ochoa, who took a chance on me even though I had no experience in the field. That was in early 2004, I walked in with zero expectations but, had a strong desire to learn and prove myself worthy of the opportunity. Fortunately, I was mentored by Brad , a Lead Technician who took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. Within a few weeks, I had my own truck and was managing floods on my own with a team of helpers. I loved the job because every day brought new challenges. I met countless people and continued to educate myself on the various aspects of Restoration, constantly seeking ways to improve and innovate.

After a few years, I was promoted to Project Manager, where I focused on guiding Homeowners and Adjusters through the restoration process and honed my skills in using Xactimate. I then transitioned to running an account at a hospital, thanks to the support and encouragement of a sales team member Rebecca Peruch, who saw potential in me, even when I doubted myself. Working at the hospital solidified the importance of doing the job right, every time, a lesson I carry with me to this day.

I spent ten years at that company, growing from a Water Damage Technician to a hospital Project Manager. When that chapter ended, I briefly worked for another company that wasn’t the right fit for me, which pushed me to start my own Environmental Testing company. My goal remained the same; make things easier and better for my customers. The business was a success, thanks to the support of many people I met along the way, but I never lost my love for Restoration.

Today, I am incredibly excited to announce that I have finally realized my dream by launching my own Restoration company, Unified Restoration LLC, with my partner Kelcey Steinmetz. Our mission is clear: to make restoration better for everyone involved and to bring peace of mind to Homeowners, Adjusters, and Insurance companies alike by showing that restoration can be done right—RESTORING WITH EXCELLENCE, INTEGRITY & TRUST.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of my journey. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Unified Restoration.
